On February 20, 2025🗓, representatives of the Ilbirs Foundation participated in the Third National Workshop on National Biodiversity Strategy and Action Plan (NBSAP) development , organized by @mnrgovkg @gef_global_environment @unpdkg.

The workshop was a platform, where the findings of these assessments presented, and the structure of
the new NBSAP discussed with members of the Interagency working group on developing NBSAP and other key stakeholders.

Based on its experience and observations in environmental protection, the Ilbirs Foundation has recomended a set of recommendations for inclusion in the NBSAP:

📌 Develop wildlife management through local communities to prevent poaching, protect habitats, and reduce local dependence on livestock activities.
📌 Support local community initiatives for wildlife conservation in unallocated areas, including other effective conservation areas.
📌 Promote ecotourism with the involvement of local communities.
📌 Revise the pasture management plan to preserve argali and other wild ungulates.
At the event, Zairbek Kubanychbekov, Director of the Ilbirs Foundation, delivered a presentation on “Local communities as active actors in biodiversity conservation”.
