On April 30th, a significant event convened partners, beneficiaries, stakeholders of UNEP’s Vanishing Treasures program, alongside government officials.

Organized by @ilbirs.foundation@globalsnowleopard@snowleopardtrust, and @snowleopard_kg, the National consultation meeting showcased final reports on the accomplishments and outcomes achieved during the program’s five-year tenure in the Kyrgyz Republic.

The meeting highlighted key projects implemented in Suusamyr, Son-Kemin, Toktogul, Kochkor, Shamshy, and Ak-Suu. These initiatives focus on mitigating human-wildlife conflicts, fostering economic opportunities for local communities, and safeguarding the vulnerable snow leopard ecosystem.

The favorable results and significant strides made during the project period spurred discussions on potential future collaborations within the UNEP’s Vanishing Treasures program.
