These awe-inspiring images were skillfully recorded through strategically placed camera traps by the dedicated Ilbirs Staff in collaboration with the Khan-Teniri State Nature Park team, all part of the noteworthy “Central Asian Mammals and Climate Adaptation” (CAMCA) project📸.

Nestled in the heart of Kyrgyzstan, Khan-Teniri State Nature Park proudly stands as the largest of its kind in the country and the second largest in all of Central Asia, championing the cause of biodiversity conservation and ecosystem preservation🌿🦌. Encompassing an expansive territory of nearly 276 thousand hectares, this park shares borders with China and Kazakhstan, offering a vital sanctuary for a diverse array of flora and fauna.

Situated in the basin of the Sary-Jaz River, the park boasts an enchanting landscape dominated by iconic peaks like Pobeda, Khan Tengri, Voyennykh, Druzhba, 110 Let VGO, Aktau, and Maxim Gorky, making it a favored destination for alpinists seeking thrilling adventures. Moreover, within the Sary-Jaz River basin, one encounters an impressive collection of 15 five-thousanders and the largest glaciers in Central Asia🏔️.

Beyond its scenic beauty, the sustainable management of Khan-Teniri State Nature Park plays a crucial role in preserving the rich biodiversity of the high-mountain ecosystems in the Central Tien Shan region.
