🌿 Training on Sustainable Tourism Development 🌿

On 23 February 2026, a comprehensive and practice-oriented training on sustainable tourism development and certification was held in Karakol for staff of the Khan-Tengiri State Nature Park and representatives of the tourism sector📄.
Throughout the day, participants:
✔️ Reviewed the principles of sustainable development and sustainable tourism
✔️ Discussed the impacts of tourism and current trends in the context of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs)
✔️ Explored the international GSTC criteria and national KGSTD standards
✔️ Examined the stages of the certification process
✔️ Conducted a self-assessment against key criteria
✔️ Developed a draft certification roadmap
Particular emphasis was placed on practical work: participants prepared a standards compliance matrix and identified priority steps for the implementation of sustainable practices.
This initiative was implemented within the framework of the project Central Asian Mammals and Climate Adaptation #CAMCAproject.
Such initiatives support protected areas, businesses, and local communities in becoming more responsible, competitive, and resilient in the long term 🌎
