🌿 Field Visit to Khan-Tengiri State Nature Park 🌿

As part of the two-year initiative on sustainable tourism development at Khan-Tengiri State Nature Park, a field visit was conducted with the participation of a sustainable tourism expert🏔.
The first stage focused on assessing the effectiveness of the previously delivered training and evaluating how well the acquired knowledge has been retained and applied in the park’s operations and tourism services🔎.
📊 The assessment covered:
✔️ The level of application of sustainable tourism principles
✔️ The use of recreational carrying capacity approaches
✔️ Elements of sustainable management
✔️ Compliance with safety standards and risk management practices
✔️ Integration of environmental considerations into tour planning
✔️ Capacity development of guides and service quality
✔️ Engagement of local communities
✔️ Economic sustainability and tourism product development
The next phase included🎯 a broader practical assessment of tourism routes, infrastructure, and management processes in order to identify priority areas for further improvement.
As a result of the visit, key development measures were defined, steps for the phased implementation of sustainable tourism standards were outlined, and benchmarks for preparation towards voluntary certification were established.
This initiative was implemented within the framework of the project “Central Asian Mammals and Climat Adaptation” #CAMCAproject☝️.
Following the field component, a dedicated training session was conducted for park staff and tourism service providers, focusing on sustainable tourism practices and preparation for certification. We will share the outcomes of this training in our next post🤗.
