📍 Field Research in the Syrt Zone

From 21 to 25 February, the team of the Ilbirs Public Foundation conducted fieldwork in the Zhylanach valleys and the surroundings of Archaly village (Tonsky district, Issyk-Kul region) as part of the #CAMCAproject.

The expedition took place under harsh syrt conditions — strong winds, cold temperatures, and remote pastures. A total of 27 interviews were conducted with local livestock owners ✅.

The data obtained will allow assessing the impact of grazing pressure on local ecosystems, as well as analyzing the challenges that shepherds are facing at high-altitude grazing zones☝🏻 🤝.
