The Ilbirs Foundation was proud to participate in the Regional Ecological Summit (RES) Astana 2026🌎 — a high-level regional platform convening government representatives, international organizations, development partners, NGOs, and experts from across Central Asia to address pressing environmental challenges, including climate change, biodiversity conservation, and sustainable land and water management🌱

Throughout the summit, our team actively participated in a range of thematic sessions, engaging in discussions on mountains🏔️ and climate change, One Health, wildlife crimes🐾, and nature based solutions🌿 These sessions provided valuable opportunities to exchange experiences, learn from regional best practices, and strengthen collaboration with partners across Central Asia🤝

Our team also supported United Nations Environment Programme (UNEP) in showcasing our Vanishing Treasures and CAMCA project initiatives—highlighting efforts to conserve biodiversity and strengthen community-based conservation across mountain ecosystems🌄

In parallel, we collaborated with Deutsche Gesellschaft für Internationale Zusammenarbeit (GIZ) to present our transboundary conservation work under their ILUCA (Integrative and Climate-Sensitive Land Use in Central Asia) programme🌎

The Regional Ecological Summit provided an important platform to strengthen partnerships, align regional priorities, and scale practical solutions for climate resilience and biodiversity conservation across Central Asia✨
