Ilbirs Foundation was honored to be part of a major International Conference “Global Mountain Dialogue for Sustainable Development: Towards the Bishkek+25 Summit”❗️
On April 24, 2025, Bishkek hosted an international conference that brought together key stakeholders: representatives of mountain country governments, the UN, international organizations, academia, NGOs, and the media. The participants engaged in critical discussions about the future of mountain regions within the framework of the Five Years of Action for the Development of Mountain Regions (2023–2027).
The global gathering was officially opened by the President of the Kyrgyz Republic, Sadyr Japarov, who emphasized the global responsibility to preserve mountain ecosystems.
Ilbirs Foundation contributed to Session #9, where our team member delivered a presentation on the importance of transboundary conservation efforts between Kyrgyzstan and Kazakhstan as a key factor in the sustainable development of mountain areas.
This event significantly strengthened international collaboration and helped shape joint approaches to the environmental, economic, and social challenges facing mountain regions🏔. It also set a strategic course for the upcoming Second Bishkek Global Mountain Summit in 2027 (Bishkek+25) — the next milestone in the global mountain development dialogue🌱.
We believe: mountains are not borders — they are bridges🌏
