As part of the WISPA-CA Project, camera traps were installed within the proposed📍 Arka Wildlife Reserve in Batken Province to conduct a pilot biodiversity monitoring survey.
The activity aimed to study the biological characteristics of Severtsov’s argali, identify its habitat range, and collect data on the status of its population🔬. The work was carried out in cooperation with the Batken Regional Department of the Ministry of Natural Resources, Ecology and Technical Supervision of the Kyrgyz Republic.
📸During the monitoring process, camera traps recorded several wildlife species, including the crested porcupine, Severtsov’s argali, and gray wolf. The collected data highlight the ecological importance of this area and underscore the need for continued monitoring and the implementation of conservation measures.
